The Chicxulub crater was caused by an asteroid hitting the earth approximately 65 million years ago. It was large enough to send a superheated cloud of gas and dust high into the Earth’s atmosphere and create worldwide Tsunami and earthquakes. The resulting gas and dust clouds blocked the sun’s rays, chilled the surface of the planet and led directly to the extinction of the dinosaurs.
But just how big was this global killer? Check the picture and see if you can spot it.
